Terms and Conditions for the BUCHI NIRAward
Since 2001 the prize had been awarded for outstanding contributions in NIR spectroscopy and its applications. In conjunction with the additional sponsorship of the Tomas Hirschfeld Award the target of the BUCHI NIRAward has been reconsidered.
Since 2004 it is named BUCHI Young Scientists NIRAward. It is given to young scientists, not older than 35 years, who worked during their diploma or doctoral thesis in the field of near-infrared spectroscopy achieving outstanding results. The value of the award amounts to USD 2'000.
Participants are encouraged to submit their results, which open up or represent new basic applications of NIR spectroscopy. Only one application per author is accepted. Papers can be submitted even if they have been previously published.
Application for the Award are made by sending to the address below:
- a completed Application Form,
- a curriculum vitae and
- evidence of the novelty and excellence of the work by either:
- A submission of up to 10 pages in English describing the work.
(This may include tables and figures), or- A copy of a published paper which must not be older then two years at the date of application for the Award.

The deadline is August 15th of each year. The award is made at an international scientific meeting where the winner is also given an opportunity to present their results.
